INTASC #6: Communication

INTASC Principle #6: The teacher uses knowledge of effective verbal, nonverbal, and media communication techniques to foster active inquiry, collaboration, and supportive interaction in the classroom.

INTASC #6 Interpretation: I understand that in order to reach my students I must be able to communicate using traditional methods but also know how to use multimedia tools as well. My communication techniques will help my students learn how to inquire information they need, which in turn will foster collaboration as well as supportive interactions amongst their peers

I choose to put a presentation that I did with other team members from my school (Texas Woman’s University) to show that working with others is a must, especially for teachers. Teachers must practice what they preach. We teach students that they must learn to collabrate with their classmates and as teachers we must do the same. Working with others and seeing or hearing different ideas heightens our sense of knowledge as well as learning to see things from another perspective.
